About Cheryl Meyer, Lower School Librarian
IGreetings! I'm Cheryl, the lower school librarian. I have been working in educational and non profit communities since 2003. I hold a B.A. in English and a certificate in Early Childhood Education from UNC-Chapel Hill. I taught in a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool until 2008 when I decided to go on a great adventure and accepted an ESOL teaching placement for Peace Corps Micronesia. The experience abroad helped me to realize that librarianship is the place that many of my interests—service, education, and equitable information access—intersect. In 2013, I received a master’s in Library Science, with a focus on health resources, from North Carolina Central University. I served patrons of all ages in the Asheboro Public Library for three years before returning to my hometown in 2016. Outside of the library, I am preparing for certification Childbirth Educator and  keeping up with my two kiddos!
