Welcome to the Lower School Library!
Read, learn, and grow at the Lower School Library! In this inviting space, students can curl up with a reading buddy and favorite book in one of many cozy nooks specially designed for little bodies, build a reading fort with a friend or two, look for books using the online catalog and check them out themselves using the self-checkout computer, ask a knowledgeable and enthusiastic librarian for suggestions on what to read next, learn how to use a new app or database, and much more.

About Cheryl Meyer, Lower School Librarian
IGreetings! I'm Cheryl, the lower school librarian. I have been working in educational and non profit communities since 2003. I hold a B.A. in English and a certificate in Early Childhood Education from UNC-Chapel Hill. I taught in a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool until 2008 when I decided to go on a great adventure and accepted an ESOL teaching placement for Peace Corps Micronesia. The experience abroad helped me to realize that librarianship is the place that many of my interests—service, education, and equitable information access—intersect. In 2013, I received a master’s in Library Science, with a focus on health resources, from North Carolina Central University. I served patrons of all ages in the Asheboro Public Library for three years before returning to my hometown in 2016. Outside of the library, I am preparing for certification Childbirth Educator and keeping up with my two kiddos!
